Otoplasty is surgery to correct ear lobe aging, prominent ears, or ear folding. Ear lobe rejuvenation, earring hole repairs, cauliflower ear, otoplasty, and ear prosthesis are some of the treatments Dr Madorsky specializes in when it comes to ears.
What is Neck Lift?
Neck Lift, or Platysmaplasty, tightens the loose skin of the neck (the wattle) and creates a more defined neck line. Tightening sagging neck muscles, softening the appearance of vertical neck bands, and removing excess skin and fat rejuvenate the neck appearance.
Neck Lift Procedure
Neck Lift surgery is done by making small incisions hidden behind the ears. The sagging muscles are tightened and excess skin is repositioned or removed. Another incision is hidden under the chin to directly tighten the neck muscles. If necessary, fat may be removed with liposuction. The surgery usually takes place under sedation anesthesia.
Dr. Madorsky often performs Neck Lift in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures, such as Brow Lift or Eyelid surgery. In these longer combined cases, general anesthesia may be required.
Following surgery, discomfort is mild and can be controlled with pain medication as needed. There will be some tightness of the ears and jaw. Bruising and swelling last 7– 14 days and can be minimized by using ice packs and sleeping with the head of bed elevated for the first 48 hours. Some numbness is common, but temporary. Showering is allowed after 48 hours and sutures are removed within a week.
